Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their rebellious lyrics and punkish style. The band didn't have an enormous following within The United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a solo musician after the group broke up from 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford vanished for some years from the music scene following the albums' failure to receive much attention. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became major success. However, the success of her career wasn't last long and after a few years she went under the radar. Re-emerging with releases of "Black" which came out in 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years following. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
