Ina Gardner is writer of a number of famous American cookbooks on cooking. Ina also hosts Barefoot Contessa on Food Network, which began in 2002. Ina started her career in the White House as a writer of nuclear energy policy documents and also the budget. She initially found her career as stimulating intellectually, but eventually lost interest and opened a grocery store that was known as Barefoot Contessa. The store was very successful over the course of 18 years until she decided to sell it. After that, she started her first cookbook. There were many more cookbooks as well as magazine columns that followed. Her Food Network television program also was launched and soon became a hit. The range of products includes appliances for kitchens to ingredient and storage containers. Ina has never been to any cookery schools or employed in a restaurant, and she is completely self-taught. Her name is ascribed to her simple style of cooking as well as her easy entertaining.
